Singapore Hospice Council (SHC) is the umbrella body representing 24 organisations that actively provide hospice and palliative care in Singapore. In 2020, Empact was commissioned by SHC to be the consultant and facilitator to assist the strategic planning exercise between August 2020 to January 2021.
The work involved
With a large, diverse group of member organisations, it was important for us to listen and include their voices in the development strategic plan. The methodology was designed with two objectives, to be inclusive of the all stakeholders, and to utilise this platform to promote engagement between member organisations and SHC leadership. The work involved:Â
Benchmarking, an internal assessment of SHC and study of 7 international peer organisations
Interviews with SHC’s pioneers
Focus groups with council members and key SHC staff
Online survey with member organisations
Workshops, to discuss strategic plan and facilitate co-creation of vision, mission statements
Results of our Work
Key project outputs included proposed Vision and mission statements for SHC and strategies for the next three financial years. The process required high level of stakeholder management. Empact facilitated engagements between SHC leadership, key staff, council members and different member organisations.
