The Work Involved
The Temasek Foundation (TF) OSCAR Fund aims to help communities uplift the vulnerable and foster an environment of care through ground-up, self-help philanthropic initiatives by citizens and residents. The Fund is guided by the following three thrusts:
Helping the vulnerable and address social gaps
Encouraging citizen philanthropy
Supporting innovative ways to address community needs
To support this, Empact has partnered the five OSCAR friends who were selected for the mentorship programme where they have access to a customised mentorship programme and funding support for growing their ground-up group or organisation e.g. capability building, volunteer and data management systems.
Programme Highlights
Personalised mentoring totaling 48 hours over the year
Development of a 1-2 year plan and TF OSCAR Fund application to pilot the initiative
Focus areas include leadership development, project management, grant and cash flow management, volunteer management, and communications
Mid-point progress update and final debrief on learnings
Results of our Work
This is an ongoing project and will complete by August 2025.
