The Work Involved
In 2024, the ASEAN Foundation launched the eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN (eYAA) Cohort 4 programme, engaging Empact to support participants in enhancing their project management, volunteering, and sustainable development skills. Empact's role was critical in developing training materials, facilitating virtual capacity-building workshops, and assisting Youth Volunteers (YVs) and their assigned Civil Society Organizations/Social Enterprises (CSO/SE) partners in refining their community project proposals. Empact facilitated weekly online workshops, which included sessions on Social Project Design, Project Management, and Social Impact Communications. The workshops involved 100 Youth Volunteers and 10 CSO/SE representatives, organised into ten teams, each responsible for designing and implementing a community project in ASEAN member states.
Following the virtual workshops, Empact was appointed to conduct an in-person pitch training session during the programme orientation at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. This training was tailored to prepare them for their project pitch presentations. The session focused on enhancing participants' ability to present compelling narratives. Empact also supported the event by serving as emcee and moderator for the pitching presentations, ensuring the smooth flow of the session.
Results of our Work
Empact’s involvement in the eYAA Cohort 4 programme successfully equipped 100 Youth Volunteers and 10 CSO/SE partners with the tools needed to develop and implement impactful community projects. The virtual capacity-building workshops provided the foundational skills necessary for project design and management, while the in-person pitch training ensured they were fully prepared for their project presentations.
